Last Updated: July 7, 2026 This privacy policy governs your use of the Chrome Extension Ascent-Ai ("the Extension"). The Extension is designed to scan user-selected text on news sites and forums to identify stock tickers and calculate sentiment data.
The Extension accesses the text content of your actively open browser tab only when you explicitly interact with the tool. This data is processed dynamically to calculate stock ticker frequencies and sentiment scores. This data is handled strictly on your local machine or sent securely to our development API for calculation processing. It is never saved permanently by us. Authentication & Payment Data: We use a secure, third-party payment provider, ExtensionPay, to process licensing fees and manage subscriptions. We do not store or have access to your credit card details. ExtensionPay manages your license tokens and payment status securely.
The Extension requires the following permissions to operate, which are used strictly as described: activeTab: To read the visible text of the single page you are actively viewing when you trigger the extension. scripting: To analyze the DOM text of the active page to extract ticker information. storage: To save your user preferences and securely cache your ExtensionPay license token locally on your device.
No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your personal data or browsing data to any third parties under any circumstances. No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, track your behavior across websites, or collect analytics on your online activities.
